El Gato Theatre Company was founded in 2005 by Managing Director Amy Louise Cole and Artistic Director Shawn Ferreyra. It is a San Francisco-based theatre company offering original and existing work to adults and young audiences.

Mission:
El Gato Del Diablo theatre offers accessible, diverse work to adults and young audiences which honor the craft of theatre in its most authentic form. El Gato's mission was founded on the following core values:

Accessibility:
El Gato's productions are accessible in that they deal with subjects relevant to our community, reflecting its diversity. El Gato's productions will remain affordable. In presenting our family productions, it is our goal that all young audiences be able to attend regardless of the ability to pay.

Diversity:
El Gato Del Diablo will remain committed to telling diverse and multicultural stories to adults and the next generation of theatre goers. El Gato's work will speak to the social, political, and cultural concerns of our diverse community.

Craft:
El Gato Del Diablo's work honors the craft of theatre in its rustic and authentic form. Our production values rely more on imagination and the art and craft of creation than on spectacle, celebrating traditional theatrical storytelling techniques. El Gato is a professional theatre company with an artisan's soul.
